If Wil’s fate is truly written in the stars, then this summer is about to go supernova . . .
MY OPINION: *****
So I know this review is at least 5 days late but I've been swamped. I had a huge project for English and three performances of a musical I was a part of. I'm going to try to make this short and sweet.
I was really tempted to give this book a six-star rating but I ended up deciding that yes, it was amazing, but it just wasn't as
powerful as, say,
The Hate U Give was. So I resulted in giving it five stars, which is a super good rating.
I know I said I'm going to try to rate harshly but this book was just sogood that I couldn't help but give it five full stars.
This book was about a girl (it would be nice if I could remember her name...) Wilamena "Wil" Carlisle who lost her mother and sticks to believing in the stars and astrology and signs and all of that stuff because of her mother's memory. It's time for her to find her one true love according to the stars and there are some signs that she can't go with, especially Pisces, which is basically forbidden according to what her mother said.
She meets this guy named Grant who saves her (he is under the illusion that she's about to kill herself when they first meet because she was on top of a water tower) and they meet, though there's an accident that consists of them falling off of the water tower.
Grant is this amazing, kind, funny, smart, talented, and hot musician that sweeps Wil off her feet with his charm and character and overall personality. I totally fell in love with him from the start and it seemed that Wil did too. Then she goes to this club where Grant is playing (of course he's a hot musician) and meets his brother, Seth.
Well, we have our story. Love triangle. Two brothers.
To make matters even harder, Seth is a Saggitarius, the one and only sign that is supposed to be Wil's destined beloved. And Grant is, of course he has to be, a Pisces.
She likes Seth, she dates him for a while, she convinces herself that he's her guy, but then Grant is there and she finds herself more attracted to him though she tries not to. A LOT of things happen but ultimately, Wil realizes that she should put her faith in her heart instead of the stars.
She obviously ends up with Grant but the way it happened was so swoon-worthy and beautiful and was honestly the whole reason for the five stars.
There was also a side story concerning Wil's grandma but it was all good and I liked how it seemed to fit in with the entire story.
Every time Grant called her MENA was the best thing of my life.
Also. Seth. His ending. His story. sigh.
This book was entirely cliche but it was beautiful and amazing and I just loved it and would recommend it to all YA romance readers!
