The Picture of Dorian Gray - Oscar Wilde - UPDATED REVIEW

The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde  Genre : Classics Blurb (on back of book) : Oscar Wilde’s only novel is the dreamlike story of a young man who sells his soul for eternal youth and beauty. In this celebrated work Wilde forged a devastating portrait of the effects of evil and debauchery on a young aesthete in late-19th-century England. Combining elements of the Gothic horror novel and decadent French fiction, the book centers on a striking premise: As Dorian Gray sinks into a life of crime and gross sensuality, his body retains perfect youth and vigor while his recently painted portrait grows day by day into a hideous record of evil, which he must keep hidden from the world. Blurb (on back of book): Belly finds out what comes after falling in love in this follow-up to The Summer I Turned Pretty from the New York Times bestselling author of To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before (soon to be a major motion picture!), Jenny Han.
Can summer be truly summer without Cousins Beach?
It used to be that Belly counted the days until summer, until she was back at Cousins Beach with Conrad and Jeremiah. But not this year. Not after Susannah got sick again and Conrad stopped caring. Everything that was right and good has fallen apart, leaving Belly wishing summer would never come.
But when Jeremiah calls saying Conrad has disappeared, Belly knows what she must do to make things right again. And it can only happen back at the beach house, the three of them together, the way things used to be. If this summer really and truly is the last summer, it should end the way it started—at Cousins Beach.

MY OPINION: ******

LOVE LOVE LOVE this book and forever will. Of course, since this is my millionth time reading it, I don't need to retell what it's about. Just know that this book is one of my favorites. There's just something about it that every time I read it, I just fall more in love with Conrad, Jeremiah, Belly. I love and miss Susannah and love Laurel.

The characters are memorable. The setting is memorable. Of course, who could ever forget the Fisher boys, Belly, and Cousins Beach? It's just so beautiful and brings me so much nostalgia every time I read it, remembering the first times I read these.

I would like to say thank you to my best friend for buying me these books around three or four years ago because now I have them with me always to reread and reread and reread.

I would recommend them to all readers looking for a cute, funny, romantic summer read.
