The Picture of Dorian Gray - Oscar Wilde - UPDATED REVIEW

The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde  Genre : Classics Blurb (on back of book) : Oscar Wilde’s only novel is the dreamlike story of a young man who sells his soul for eternal youth and beauty. In this celebrated work Wilde forged a devastating portrait of the effects of evil and debauchery on a young aesthete in late-19th-century England. Combining elements of the Gothic horror novel and decadent French fiction, the book centers on a striking premise: As Dorian Gray sinks into a life of crime and gross sensuality, his body retains perfect youth and vigor while his recently painted portrait grows day by day into a hideous record of evil, which he must keep hidden from the world. For over a century, this mesmerizing tale of horror and suspense has enjoyed wide popularity. It ranks as one of Wilde's most important creations and among the classic achievements of its kind. MY OPINION: *****

So I just got a kindle fire and I'm not sure how the formatting for this review is going to look like so we're just going to have to roll with it. Bear with me.

Btw Merry Belated Christmas!!

This is my third or fourth time reading this book and I enjoyed it as always. I feel as if this book got so much more poignant and less fun and more serious action and the likes. There was a little more childhood "romance", shall we call it, and I really enjoyed watching my ships sail.

I have been marking the different ships so let's tally them up!

Sophitz: 33
Sokeefe: 17
Sodex: 16

So as you can see, Sophitz for the win!!!!!

I liked reading about Sophie and the gang and their mission. I thought that the Council showed an accurate representation of a government that is struggling with change. Cognate training was definitely the best part!

KEEFE AND ALVAR HOW COULD YOU

I would recommend this book to readers of all ages. Happy reading!!!!

Main Character: Sophie
Sidekick(s): Fitz, Keefe, Biana, Dex, etc
