The Picture of Dorian Gray - Oscar Wilde - UPDATED REVIEW

The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde  Genre : Classics Blurb (on back of book) : Oscar Wilde’s only novel is the dreamlike story of a young man who sells his soul for eternal youth and beauty. In this celebrated work Wilde forged a devastating portrait of the effects of evil and debauchery on a young aesthete in late-19th-century England. Combining elements of the Gothic horror novel and decadent French fiction, the book centers on a striking premise: As Dorian Gray sinks into a life of crime and gross sensuality, his body retains perfect youth and vigor while his recently painted portrait grows day by day into a hideous record of evil, which he must keep hidden from the world. MY OPINION: *****

I absolutely loved rereading this book!

Even though I knew what was going to happen, this book still kept me in a form of suspense that kept me on my feet, and wanting to know what was going to happen next. It was an amazing story to live through, and it makes readers want to read more. I just started the next book right after I finished Everblaze because I could not wait any longer!

This book made Sophie an even stronger character and a better role model for girls. Sophie is brave, determined, and loyal to her friends and family. I really like the way she uses her brainpower also, because her logic really helps her pull through.

Dex was not as big of a part of the book as in the other ones, but in the parts that showed him made the book more enjoyable. Although Dex is not my most favorite character, he still plays an important role in the stories, especially in the ending of this book.

Fitz and Keefe are better characters than ever in this book. I really like reading the parts that portrayed the two boys, and they made the book very interesting to read.

I really enjoyed reading this book again, and it made life more exciting! Please comment below!
