The Picture of Dorian Gray - Oscar Wilde - UPDATED REVIEW

The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde  Genre : Classics Blurb (on back of book) : Oscar Wilde’s only novel is the dreamlike story of a young man who sells his soul for eternal youth and beauty. In this celebrated work Wilde forged a devastating portrait of the effects of evil and debauchery on a young aesthete in late-19th-century England. Combining elements of the Gothic horror novel and decadent French fiction, the book centers on a striking premise: As Dorian Gray sinks into a life of crime and gross sensuality, his body retains perfect youth and vigor while his recently painted portrait grows day by day into a hideous record of evil, which he must keep hidden from the world. For over a century, this mesmerizing tale of horror and suspense has enjoyed wide popularity. It ranks as one of Wilde's most important creations and among the classic achievements of its kind. Luckily, the girls have the perfect cure in mind....

MY OPINION: *****

This is the last book of the Mother-Daughter Book Club series! :( IT IS SO SAD! (not the book).

This book was amazing! If you are like me, and did not decide to read the first six again (or for the first time), it is ok! Well, it is mostly ok for the ones who didn't reread it, but at least read it once, because Heather Vogel Frederick does an amazing job of bringing back old memories, and help you remember past events in the books!

I can't believe that the girls are in college now! It's like watching your own kids grow up, as you read this series! It is an amazing conclusion. The only bad thing is that it HAD TO END!!!!!! :( :(

I love Jess and Emma more than ever (they have always been my personal favs - comment below on who you like the best), and it makes me feel so happy to be reading from their POV. It is an incredible way to read a book from your favorite character's POV, though most people like reading from the main character. THIS BOOK OBVIOUSLY HAS NO MAIN CHARACTER!

Sorry for all of the CAPS.

I think that these girls basically grow on you. Cassidy's ending was actually very predictive, but it is still fun to read how the events all come together. I think that you can learn a lot from this series.

I might reread the series, update on this and The Mother-Daughter Book Club posts, add new posts on the rest of the series, and then READ MORE!!!!!!!

Overall, I would recommend this book to middle-schoolers.

PS Sorry for leaving out some of the main characters, but I am thinking about them! :)

Main Character(s): Emma, Jess, Megan, Becca, Cassidy, Seargent Marge, Gwen, the campers, etc
Sidekick(s): BOYFRIENDS, new friends, campers, counselors, PARENTS, etc
Villain(s): Homesickness, etc
Realistic Fiction Elements: All of this could happen in real life, though it does not necessarily mean it will.
