The Picture of Dorian Gray - Oscar Wilde - UPDATED REVIEW

The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde  Genre : Classics Blurb (on back of book) : Oscar Wilde’s only novel is the dreamlike story of a young man who sells his soul for eternal youth and beauty. In this celebrated work Wilde forged a devastating portrait of the effects of evil and debauchery on a young aesthete in late-19th-century England. Combining elements of the Gothic horror novel and decadent French fiction, the book centers on a striking premise: As Dorian Gray sinks into a life of crime and gross sensuality, his body retains perfect youth and vigor while his recently painted portrait grows day by day into a hideous record of evil, which he must keep hidden from the world. For over a century, this mesmerizing tale of horror and suspense has enjoyed wide popularity. It ranks as one of Wilde's most important creations and among the classic achievements of its kind. City of Glass - Cassandra Clare

City of Glass by Cassandra Clare
Genre: YA Fantasy

Blurb (on back of book): To save her mother's life, Clary must travel to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters — never mind  that entering the city without permission is against the Law, and breaking the Law could mean death. To make things worse, she learns that Jace does not want her there, and Simon has been thrown into prison by the Shadowhunters, who are deeply suspicious of a vampire who can withstand sunlight.
As Clary uncovers more about her family's past, she finds an ally in mysterious Shadowhunter Sebastian. With valentine mustering the full force of his power to destroy all Shadowhunters forever, their only chance to defeat him is to fight alongside their eternal enemies. But can Downworlders and Shadowhunters put aside their hatred to work together? While Jace realizes exactly how much he is willing to risk for Clary, can she harness her newfound powers to help save the Glass City —whatever the cost?
Love is a mortal sin and the secrets of the past prove deadly as Clary and Jace face down Valentine in the final installment of the New York Times bestselling trilogy The Mortal Instruments.

*This is actually the third book out of six. Cassandra Clare originally wanted a trilogy, but she decided to write more.

MY OPINION: *****

I think that this is the best book in the series so far!

It is really interesting. I love the continuation of the story, and all of the cliffhangers. I also like how all of the important character's point of views (POVs) were shown. Jace is by far my favorite character, though Clary is awesome too! She is such a pretty and vibrant girl, with tons of energy and determination! Jace is an annoying, but adorable guy, who is hard not to fall in love with.

The plot is really interesting! Clary has so many things that she has to do, and she must figure out how to solve everything at once.

Overall, this book was incredible, with funny characters, super emotional scenes, and many, many, times when you can really understand how the character(s) is/are feeling. I would recommend this book to all teens, middle- and high-school.
